On the 14th of December 1911 Roald Amundsen and four companions were the first human beings to stand on the South Pole. The Norwegian explorer, generally considered to be the finest polar explorers ever, Amundsen not only beat the elements and Scott's British expedition, but he returned home in one piece.

20 November • Join m/v Plancius for Antarctica Cruise (PLA 22). See all eight (Sub-Antarctic) penguin species (Chinstrap, Gentoo, Adelie, Magellan, King, Rockhopper and, potentially, Emperor and Macaroni) and experience a Partial Solar Eclipse on 25 November in the Antarctic Peninsula!
03 December • Disembarkation in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. Flight to Santiago de Chile and transfer to your hotel.
04 December • Flight from Santiago to the airport of your departure via Madrid.
