Scottish Islands
Expedition Cruising including St Kilda
Before heading up to the North Atlantic and Spitsbergen the Russian expedition ships, operated by the award-winning Oceanwide Expeditions, take a week out to explore the Scottish Islands.
With a sailing from Aberdeen, the itinerary includes Fair Isle, Foula and Mousa in Shetland before the ship heads south west to call at many of the lesser known and more remote Scottish west coast islands as well as the famous St Kilda and romantic Mingulay.
Every day there are shore landings - usually both in the morning and afternoon - using the adaptable zodiacs to gain access to areas not visited by other cruise ships - and often not by anyone else either! The holiday ends in Oban from where there's a lovely train journey to Glasgow to make homeward connections.
There are different grades of cabin and prices, which are fully inclusive except for travel to Aberdeen and from Oban, vary accordingly. There is only one available departure and early booking is strongly advised.
