Afognak - Pure Heaven and at a Further Reduced Cost!

There are some places in the world so special that words cannot even begin to describe them. One such is Afognak Island, Alaska. This pristine environment was first identified as one of the USA's first conservation areas back in 1982 and the island has been sympathetically managed since then. Kodiak Brown Bears vie for attention with enchanting Sea Otters, while Bald Eagles soar above. Both Tufted and Horned Puffins provide hours of entertainment with their comical ways, while to see the endangered Marbled Murrelet is indeed a privilege.

As a fitting climax to a wonderful Alaskan holiday which takes in the extraordinary frontier town of Nome and the intensely remote Pribilof Islands, we spend three nights on Afognak, having flown out from Kodiak Island by float plane. Our exploration is almost entirely by boat, allowing the opportunity to get really close to wildlife without disturbing the birds and animals which seem to ignore human presence if it comes from the water.

And the final piece of fantastic news is that we've been able to reduce the cost of this horribly extravagant holiday by a further £50 because of the continued strength of sterling against the dollar. Bookings must be made by the middle of February - but then that's pretty normal for a holiday this coming July. The new cost is £4,925 and you will never get another chance like this!
